Here is the recipe I used for our "Be the Chip" Cookies. It is my very favorite.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup of butter softened (1 stick)
1/2 cup of shortening
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
12 ounces of Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
Instructions:
Heat oven to 375 degrees. In a large mixing bowl, mix butter, shortening, and sugars at medium speed until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla and mix until incorporated. Sift the dry ingredients together and add gradually to the creamed mixture. Drop in rounded Tablespoons onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.
